neighborhood of Crestline can be found within the Lake Arrowhead area.
Sitting upon the shoreline of Lake Gregory, Crestline is a community
surrounded by water and forest, in roughly equal quantities. Access is
via Highway 18, which enters the area from the San Bernardino Valley.
With a population of over 10,000 people, it is one of the largest
communities in the area.
Sitting at an altitude of almost
5,000 feet above sea level, Crestline resides within a stunning forest
environment, populated by cedar, oak and pine. The San Bernardino
National Forest covers an area of 812,000 acres; much of it has never
seen a human foot upon its undergrowth, making this a truly incredible
area of natural surroundings. The shoreline of Lake Gregory makes up
much of the natural environment. It was manmade, although well
established and matured.

The
predominant type of properties available in the area single family
homes, with the average property price being around $300,000. Around
150 new homes are built each year, with a further 50 being completely
rebuilt or refurbished, which makes this one of the fastest growing
residential areas within the county.

There are a dozen good
quality restaurants within the neighborhood, along with a supermarket
and a selection of specialist and convenience stores. Banking services
are available in the municipal center, and a major international
airport sits no more than 50 kilometers away.
Crestline Recreation & Entertainment
Much
of the recreation within Crestline is centered on water sports. The
fishing in Lake Gregory is recognized as being exceptionally good, and
the lake is well stocked with a variety of species. There is also a
fully serviced beach area, with boating and swimming facilities, which
local residents and visitors alike are encouraged to make use of.
The
surrounding National Forest adds many more recreational possibilities,
such has horse riding, hiking and camping, indeed, the area is well
equipped with excellent campsites, and is a popular outdoor destination
for people across the entire state.
More traditional forms of
entertainment can be found within the center of Crestline, and include
several sports bars, public tennis courts, and a full size movie
theater.
Crestline Schools
There are several good
quality schools in the area, including two Elementary Schools, Lake
Gregory Elementary and the charmingly named Valley of Enchantment
Elementary. There is also the Mountain Continuation High School, which
is noted as being of a particularly high standard.
As a
residential community, Crestline has a lot to offer, it maintains an
old world charm, within stunning natural surroundings, yet facilitates
easy access to several major urban centers. This makes Crestline a
great option for those people who would wish to commute each day to
work, and return in the evening to a peaceful life in a friendly old
town community. Families especially, would benefit from the great local
schooling options and easy access to modern facilities.
