Lake Arrowhead Recreation & Entertainment
Recreational Adventures in Lake Arrowhead
On the Water…
Lake Arrowhead is clearly the “Jewel” of the San Bernardino Mountains with a lifetime of adventures to enjoy. The Lake itself is home to some of the largest trout you’ll find anywhere as well as plenty of those line-breaking small-mouth bass & catfish if you prefer fishing by moonlight. On the lake, you can enjoy sailing, water-skiing & wake-boarding or kayaking in the many bays & inlets. There is the Marina with facilities, Nana’s burgers on the lake and a launching ramp.
On Dry Land…
Around the lake are hundreds of trails for hiking, biking & OHV’s too. We have 2 great campgrounds here as well if you want to spend some time under the stars… check out the NorthShore campground or Dogwood. Depending on the season, we have a variety of directions to hike… in the cooler months, you might want to hike around or up to the “Pinnacles” and in the summer, you’ll certainly enjoy meandering around the creeks & streams.
The Lake Arrowhead Village
For more civilized adventures, a day at the Lake Arrowhead Village is a great experience for some shopping at any of our shops… from Coach to Bass or maybe some unique clothiers such as Sandras for women or Tattle-Tales for the children or Vino 100 to pick out some great wines! Of course we have the fun stores such as “Big Dog” and several art-galleries as well.
Lake Arrowhead Restaurants
Let’s not forget to “eat”….
For great “Tai”, you’ll want to find your way to the authentic, tasty & gorgeous “Papaya Bay”. Located in the Lake Arrowhead Village, Papaya Bay is owned, operated & decorated by a wonderful couple from Thailand. Our favorites range from the Pineapple Fried Rice to the Basil Lamb to the PadSeeuew & you’ve got to start with the House Special Soup or the Appetizer platter! If a world-class Margarita is more your craving, also in the village is “Papagayos”
For authentic Italian there is Eligios located in the historic & scenic Storybook Inn right on Hwy 18 in Sky Forest. The Lasagna is awesome & the Lamb-Chops atop the eggplant-ragout is as good as the view!
For a real epicurean experience, please make reservations at our new & always exciting “Bin 189” located inside the Arrowhead Resort. This is no ordinary “hotel” restaurant at all! Be prepared to be impressed!
For other fine dining, we would highly recommend the Chef’s Inn located in Cedar Glen and the Raven’s Nest located in the historic Saddle Back Inn just across the street from the Lake Arrowhead Village… both have great steak & fish selections & full bars too.
