Lake Arrowhead is comprised of several areas, each with their own beauty & benefits.  Probably most significant is the issue of “Lake Rights”. Lake Arrowhead is a “private” lake, thus the use of the lake is restricted to those that own property within the geographic boundaries of “Arrowhead Woods”.  Some of the other areas may be nearly across the road from the lake, might be 2 minutes to the Village, might have lake-views,   but may not necessarily be within “Arrowhead Woods”. If using the lake is not a necessity then your options of Lake Arrowhead homes for sale are much more open, diverse & may be less expensive. If you do want to or plan to in the future, then you’ll definitely want to restrict your search to just Arrowhead Woods. No matter what area of Lake Arrowhead you choose to live in, there are plenty of entertainment and recreational options available to you and your family. Learn about these options including camping, fishing, Lake Arrowhead Village shopping, and, of course, restaurants in Lake Arrowhead here as well.

Arrowhead Woods, Lake Arrowhead
Arrowhead Woods homes are the only ones that include “Lake Rights” in Lake Arrowhead.

Sky Forest & Crest Estates
Sky Forest & Crest Estates are to the south end of the Lake closer to Hw 18 and tend to be larger parcels, often up to & over an acre. These areas are also very well forested with plenty of old-growth pines, oaks & dogwoods. Many of the homes in Sky Forest and homes in Crest Estates have fantastic views and you’re just 3-minutes to the “Village”.

Cedar Glen, California
Cedar Glen is located to the East of the Lake and close to National Forest with many of our favorite trails for hiking, biking & OHV’s. The famous Pacific Crest Trail passes right through Cedar Glen & some of the off-road trails will take you through Green Valley Lake & then on to Big Bear, so you can ride all day!  The Lake Arrowhead Village is only about a 5-minute drive. Cedar Glen also has its own village featuring some of our favorite spots such as the Cedar Glen Inn which is famous for Breakfasts & the Historic Chef’s Inn for a truly great dinner, plus antique shops & 2 incredible Mountain furniture stores.

Deer Lodge Park, Lake Arrowhead
Deer Lodge Park is located on the North/West side of the Lake and close to National Forest trails as well. These OHV roads transverse for miles; you can ride all the way to Silverwood Lake & access all the trails of the High Desert. Deer Lodge Park does allow horses and there are some larger land parcels there, some already lodging horses. Deer Lodge Park is on the warmer side of Lake Arrowhead, so if you prefer sunshine & less snow, this might be a pleasant spot for you. The Blue Jay Village is only about 5 minutes from here with Jensens Gourmet market, Starbucks, Rite Aid, 4 restaurants, the Movie theatres, and of course Coldwell Banker. Lake Arrowhead Village is about 10 minutes from Deer Lodge Park.

Blue Jay, California
Blue Jay is a quaint little Alpine Village located on the North Side of the Lake and 3 minutes to the Arrowhead Village. The “Blue Jay” Village is host to several restaurants, the movie theatres, Jensens Gourmet Market, Starbucks, shops, galleries & Coldwell Banker! The “Village” was recently purchased by the same folks that purchased the Arrowhead Resort & the Arrowhead Village. They have great plans for updating the village here to resemble a Swiss Alpine town, which will be great as everything is right on the main street and the new look will fit in just right with all the surrounding Pines!

Twin Peaks, California
Twin Peaks is a small community located at the top of the hill just 3 minutes to Blue Jay & less than 10 minutes to Lake Arrowhead.  The town here seems to be great for commuters as it is close to Hwy 18 & Hwy 189 runs through the middle of town which makes it quick for getting up & down the hill.

Arrowhead Villas, Lake Arrowhead
Arrowhead Villas is a small community located just off of Hwy18 on the South side of the Lake originally developed by Bugsy Seagal back in the late ‘20’s. The original Bracken Fern Manor is still there and operating now as a 10 bedroom B&B. The Inn was the original building for the “girls” and “under” the street was a secret tunnel for guests to commute or take a break from the gambling & distillery just across the street. The Arrowhead Villas are home to more blossoming “Dogwoods” than anywhere else in the Mountains… just beautiful huge blossoms in the spring & fiery colored leaves in the fall. It is a beautiful community in which to live near Lake Arrowhead.

Running Springs, California
Running Springs is the next largest town east of Lake Arrowhead & is located 15 minutes away. Running Springs has several restaurants, shops, coffee-stops, hardware, & an auto-parts store. Running Springs serves as the Gateway to Big Bear & the “Slopes”. Snow Valley is just 10 minutes further east & Big Bear only 30 minutes. So if you’ll be here more to hit the slopes, then Running Springs might be of interest. There are also tons of great trails for outdoor adventures as well. Rimwood Ranch is an Equestrian Zoned area here with minimum of 1 acre parcel and most being 5 acres which offers some “space” to enjoy the natural beauty of the Pines & Boulders that are here.

Crestline, California
Crestline is located west of Lake Arrowhead & is the lowest elevation as well as being the closest for commuting down the “hill”. Crestline is built around Lake Gregory which is a delightful lake for fishing, swimming, walking & beaching. Row Boats & paddle-boards are available at the marina as well as entrance to the giant slide that dumps you right in Lake Gregory!  With a large variety of homes in Crestline and areas including Dart Canyon & Sawpit Creek Ranch, which are 5acre equestrian-zoned properties, you’re sure to find something perfect for your family. From Crestline you can be at Silverwood Lake in 15 minutes for fishing, power-boating, water-skiing, etc.  The lake here maintains a public marina for boat launching & you can lease a slip for the season if you prefer.
